After a walk along the promenade, nothing beats tea and cake... I know it sounds feeble, but it just doesn't. I was taken to Parade Tea Rooms in Southsea on one of my very first weekends to Portsmouth and I remember the selection and look of the cakes being unbelievable (only place that has ever come close to my beloved Llew Glas in North Wales!!!).
located on the park in Southsea, it is a lovey place with floor to ceiling windows, looking out over the park, white walls and lots of green plants, its got a fresh and good feel about it.
All the cakes are homemade which, when I was first told this, was genuinely surprised at - the variety, size and the consistency of them all was so impressive. The slices of cake are HUGE and so, so delicious - giant cheese cakes, chocolate lovers and sponges cake fans alike will be in heaven... and the meringues...
They offer a lunch time menu of light lunches, but for me its the cake I come here for!!
